Kernel boot parameter for "noram"
I am attempting to load Puppy onto some low RAM computers. How do I get the Live CD to work properly when there is not enough RAM to boot up the LiveCD? I have tried a boot parameter such as "puppy pfix=noram" to no avail.
Any ideas appreciated.

Mirror sites for downloading PETs ??
Given that the puppylinux.ca site has now exceeded its bandwidth limit for the month (you will get a concurrent bandwidth download error) are there any other mirror sites for downloading extra PET packages? I am particularly interested in Java, Wine and Frostwire as I am trying to finish off a remas...

Boot : ....PUPSTATE: Read-only, making filesystem usable ??

Creating a menu item for OO on a remastered system?
I am remastering a version of Puppy v4.1.1 for a small charity that donates refurbished computers. I have installed OpenOffice 3.0 via the "sfs" method described here on the forums. This does not give a menu entry, unless one edits ~/.jwmrc. However, .jwmrc is overwritten when remastering....

Unable to boot Puppy 4.1.1 from grub or lilo from /dev/sdb13
I installed Puppy v 4.1.1 to partition /dev/sdb13 on a system which contains a bunch of other VectorLinux distributions spread across two IDE drives (which are normally known as hda and hdb). The install went fine. Installed grub, but it would not boot and it also messed up my Vector boots because g...

no sound from SoundBlaster Audigy II
I am running Puppy 1.04 with a SoundBlaster Audigy II sound card. No sound and no module loaded. Output from Query_PCI is: ===== parse_pci_devices ===== 10de: 312 (3,0) 0 [ (null) - (null) ] DISPLAY (null) 1102:4001 (12,0) 0 [ (null) - (null) ] SERIAL (null) 1102:7003 (9,128) 0 [ (null) - (null) ] I...
