communicating with the parallel port

Hi Mark,

Thanks, but I do not know to manipulate lp0 like I manipulate parport. It is OK for reading data parallel port content (bit by bit) but I have to to read/write other parallel port registers (control and status).

Is it possible with lp0?

How to activate perl

I need to load parport driver for my software to use the parallel port.
It seems that perl is not activated on my puppy linux and I cannot load the parport perl module - Device::ParallelPort::drv::parport

Any one can help?

Thanks for the tips, perl2exe works in linux (there is a version for windows too). It is working well on my puppy platform except for the communication to the parallel port (It is operating the Ethernet port for example) no need for wine emulation. That is why I think something is wrong in my config...

OK! I am in. I dig dipper and found this helpful "TroubleBootingUSBKeys" page. According to this, the bios sees the flash as hard disk, changing 3 parameters it works under USB RMD-FDD. Now I have to install perl or compile my perl program in a way puppylinux can run. Thanks for the help. ...

Still it did not boot although I put UAB-HDD as first boot. Should I format the flash and do it again or is it something wrong with the ha...
