The precise puppy has efax, efax-gtk, mgetty-fax, hylafax, minicom, gv, ... well anyway, I should be able to get something working for fax with that. I installed minicom and found the modem. I have used efax-gtk before and it works fine for me.

The link for the slacko pet seems to me broken, through an error when you click on it.

I'll try and slip a precise install on this box too and give the wheezy pet a try.

my wireless setting wouldn't stick after a reboot until I went through the puppy wizard wizard to set the network then it came backup like it was set.

first, I don't know but things I have tried in the past with similar problems, not specifically with puppy though. power off the computer, don't re-boot into puppy or whatever you need to go from off to booting your OS if it's your router, try and set it up with a static IP then you can see if that ...

must have hit the EZ button all I had to do to update my SeaMonkey was, dl, unzip, rename 1.1.2 dir to XXX and mkdir 1.1.2 and copy all the 1.1.5 stuff to that dir, all done, well I still need to sweep up but it looks like it's working That was EZ! I found a tip here or someplace in the newbie stuff...

Thank for the very speedy replies. Since my laptop is currently plugged into the wall power is no problem, I am thinking of when it's "un tethered" as the cell phone folks say. That's rare for me anyway, but it is nice to have it available, the cup speed, power meters, battery level, stuff...

please don't flam me. puppy is very cool it liks my laptop and my laptop seems to like it, maybe some power controls will help but for now it's all AC from the wall.
