If u just save it as a .jpg you can't change the background colors of the image (just plain white is a bit boring imho  ), try it like that consider saving the wallpaper as a .tif file with (!important!) JPEG compression mode in Gimp. Preserves the alpha channel, is usable by the xfce desktop ...

puppyluvr: Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the JPEG image file format kill the alpha channel (and so the whole 'floating' effect too), since .jpg isn't capable of transparency? Btw Mitchell: I thought about working on a 'fresh-lookin' icon set 4 Tpup, since I just finished my gtk2 window theme ...

Since I don't have any 3d support with my darn ATI X1950pro, (gave up after 3 days of trying) I can't help you with the compiz-related stuff, but the icon (if I assume correctly that you are talking 'bout the fancy quick app starter 'wbar' at the bottom of your desktop) is quite ez. Just open the hi...

Well, wBar really got me stuck in researching how to 'not-get-it-covered-byother-windows', and as far as I've come after several hours, I don't see a chance to get it done in xfce myself. So I give up on this until someone more experienced comes up with some good ideas. (anyone got the c++ sourcecod...

Hy dinky, I never figured out how to shrink a .png properly, so I decided to save it as a compressed gimp .xjt file, which preserves the .png features (like alpha channels) and is easily 're-convertable' to a .png file via gimp, but saves alot of traffic for the board hoster ;) Also I like the 'roun...

dinky, you really sould consider having a hairdryer at hand wherever you go :D Qemu: pretty stable, but hell, sloooooow :/ Virtualbox is quite the faster solution, but: not gpl compliant and leaves some (minor) traces on the host system -.- *sigh* ... just ignore all the above, I'm just way 2 tired,...

Twonky was my final step out of windose dependancy, that's why it's great ;) No, seriously: a few years ago I decided 2 dislike my DVD player, since I'm a lazy azz when I come home from work: 1. stand up from the couch -ouch-, 2. walk to the DVD rack, 3. start looking 4 a special movie, 4. smoking a...

Hy there, just wanted 2 let you know, that I'm pretty excited about this great possibility to show others, how much awesome eyecandy Linux really offers ---portably :D Got it running outta the box with a nvidia 4200 TI, a nvidia 6600 GT, and right now working on an ATI X1950 pro. The cursor issue is...
