puppynoob--What speed did you burn your disk at?

Sometimes my drive gets a little moody and instead of reading a disk burnt at 20x like it usually does, I'll end up having to re-burn the disk at 4x to make a usable copy...

Hey Spanky? Can you post a copy of your menu.lst? Maybe someone can look at it and see what they can do for you. My system automatically boots into puppy right off the start with no pausing. I believe the timeout function is how long the grub loader waits before automatically starting up the first o...

Crash: Great idea :D That is why i included -DO NOT ERASE ANYTHING ON HERE IT WILL CAUSE HEADACHES!!! When Spanky mentioned it i figured it would be a good time to dive into the menu.lst file and ended up having all sorts of headaches because i accidentally erased the "k" in kernel and it ...

What printers work with Puppy?

My work e-mails me my paystubs and bills of lading/customs ppwk. Just wondering what would be a good printer to buy that will work well with the cups/foomatic deal? Just looking for what you guys have found out and what to stay away from. Thinking about getting a older lexmark or hp printer from the...

Hey Spanky..... In order to have puppy boot right off the start on the hda3 deal you have to edit your menu.lst file. I will try to explain it in full noob fashion. -Boot into puppy, -open up the file manager (click files or computer on the desktop) -get yourself into the boot folder -Then get into ...

Hello. I'm fairly new to linux and had been trying to get a full install of puppy booting on the HDD for quite a while with no success. I run A 3-OS setup on my main box (Winblows XP Pro, Suse 10.0 and Fedora 8.) but I like buying the occasional $10 computer at the thrift store to play around with w...
