Re: Pupdial failure with some european languages?
I installed lupu in my old PC (Full Installation) and tried to connect to the internet with my Huawei E156G internet key. The connection was good. After a little I saw that the keyboard was US type but I need IT (italian) so I chose the IT keyboard in setup. The connection was still good until I re...

Anyone know what this BIN file is about? Is this spam or what? It's only a list, a text file that is directly opened by Internet Explorer. In linux environment the browser (seamonkey or firefox) takes this file without extension for a bin file but it's a mistake. If you download and open the file y...

Some problems on my old notebook
I tryed to full install Lupu 5.0 and it works well with few excepitions after I changed the I810 chipset in Intel: 1) I see the mouse arrow splitted in three in horizontal direction and the left arrow is the valid one. A lot of change in chipset gives the same result:? 2) Seamonkey 2.0.4 was the cho...

Puppy Full Install migration to a new hard disk
Hi all.
I'm thinking to migrate my full puppy installation on a new hard disk (15GB).
Bios is not able to boot from the existent USB drive.
What's the best way to move my puppy partition to my USB stick and after from USB to the new disk?

Note that I have to play gxine two times. Generally on the first run gxine [video file] fails on my system also if player is called by the browser but it's not a fatal error because if I run again or reload the page gxine works. I solved this double clicking problem by changing gxine's default vide...

It's very simple to upgrade flash. You need only to download the flash plugin from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html the tarball contains only one file libflashplayer.so and extract it (it's better that you rename the old file libflashplayer.so.old so you will not erase it) and put ...

OK, the swap seems to be there, altho not used at the moment you issued free One other thing comes to mind: a hardware memory failure. You can test memory with the ultimate boot CD I used that one already. I dowloaded the UBCD 4.1.1 and run memtest-86 for several hours. No errors at all. I noted th...

If you didn't do so already, make a swap file/partition of at least 1 1/2 your ram size. Hi Béèm, I partitioned my disk in this way (I read from gparted): Partition Filesystem Mount point Size /dev/sda1 ext2 / 3.98GB /dev/sda2 [lock] linux-swap 572MB sda1 is strangely not active but if I try to mou...

Hi all, when I try to start gxine or mplayer or vlc they crash. :( If I run in console the message is # gxine AFD changed from -2 to -1 The program 'gxine' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'....
