Remapping key

The key I'm trying to get mapped to d is the key left of number 1 on my keyboard. I wish to map it to the letter d, as I have it in windows. I was told how to do it, but I can't get a d written in the console window as my d key isn't working! :s What is the paste shortcut for the console window (not...

pburn real media support

I believe Mplayer offers support for real media files and conversion of said files. I was wondering if it was possible to use this to add real media support to pburn? Maybe its already there and I am misusing it, sorry if thats the case. How is the conversion being done at the moment?

How to remap broken (laptop) keyboard?

One of the keys on my keyboard oes not work. In windows I was able to remap the ¬`| key to replace the broken letter d on my UK keyboard in the registry quite easily or use the onscreen keyboard. Reading up on the problem in linux, I have found that I must create my own keymap. could some kin user p...

PHP support in puppy

I waffle a bit in the next paragraph. Feel free to skip it. I've been waiting for PHP support within puppy for a long while now. PHP is basically a fully fledged programming language. It is written in C++ and it shines!!! In the future, it would be possible to run commands like they can be run in a ...

QEMU

On windows, running qemu is simply a matter of running a batch file which supplies the command line parameters to the qemu executable. Autorun is a feature in windows which loads a particular file when a new cd is inserted. By providing an autorun file on the cd along with the qemu files, it should ...

QEMU distribution

I meant inclusion of QEMU for windows within each release of the puppy iso, so all puppy cds can be loaded from windows as easily as possible without additional downloads. Include an autorun script and puppy can load in a new window whenever the cd is inserted in a windows machine! This would just m...

QEMU

What I meant was to distribute what you've done on the cd so that it is there for immediate use. No extra download. QEMU isn't particularly big, and would drive a lot more people towards puppy.

QEMU

I think QEMU should be included in the puppy linux CD image to enable people to try it out without the hastle of downloading QEMU seperately. Having an autoplay script which installs kemu and then runs puppy in qemu on each disk would mean it was just as easy to test puppy under windows without the ...

Erasing at save time and wireless internet connection

I would like to suggest that the save cd script takes into account cd-rw and offers to read the data to ram, quick erase the disk, then compile all saved sessions into a super session and write back onto the disk. The only bit of this missing as far as I can see is the erase option. I'd also like to...

Open Hardware

Open hardware is the future. All someone needs to do is to design some royalty-free chipset, someone else write some royalty-free gpl drivers and we're cooking with gas! It makes no sense to design something new when its already freely available. Hardware manufacturers will compete to build it as ch...

Disaster lab cd

I've been thinking about this. Here are my thoughts: I've had some luck with hamachi. Its a vpn solution that is really easy to use. I'd think about rolling that into the cd. In windows it creates a network card and assigns an IP address so in linux I presume it adds a network device. I cant remembe...

How to get wifi to work from Puppy CD?

I've just moved back from uni with its lovely 10Mb internet connection to find that puppy doesn't support wifi off a freshly burnt cd. I'm in desperate need of this as I have no cd burners in the other machines at home to try and get the dotpups I need onto the pc. Any ideas?

Its not just at next bootup. It used to work immediately. It doesn't do that now. Also, Ive noticed Java applications don't use any sound cards at all. No noise comes from either card. Again, I tested this under 1.09 and it worked.
