Can\t remember if my HP-Omen has an integrated VGA controller. But this is how I got the NVIDIA driver and CUDA programming tools working: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=116822 Think the major point is to blacklist all the VGA drivers that are picked up as default. My system gives a wa...

Fatdog64 use /etc/shinit who sources ~/.shinit. Then ENV variable is set to /etc/shinit. RESOURCE: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/288770/shinit-vs-shrc I figured it out by searching for PS1 ( not PATH ) like this: grep -rIn /etc /root -e 'PS1=' If it does not help anyone else, I'm sure I h...

[SOLVED] Where do I add a path to PATH ...
I have figured it out before, but again I'm totally lost on where to add the code line: export PATH=/root/sbin:$PATH I want my local sbin path to be the first place for all and every program, who look up PATH, to search. I have tried to add it to: /root/.profile /root/.bashrc /root/bash_profile /etc...

Just a hunch, but you should check the specs of your graphics card. A flee marked old GPU could do wonders. Guess it depends on how much effort it is worth putting into it? So, do as others suggested and try a few. Precise 5,7 and slacko 6 has worked well for me ( can't remember if they come with Xi...

FatDog64-802 on nvidia 1060 M GPU running cuda toolkit 10.1
I needed to get my cuda development environment up and running again. After several attempts on windows 10, banging my head against some stupid .NET version issues ( I mean come on, cuda is a c/c++ environment) I gave windows the boot. Deleted 30GB og VS garbage and gave Fatdog a few hours. lo and b...

I'm particularly interested in his methods and scripts for applications by associate them with sfs's and automatically downloading / mounting / launch. I can offer what ever is needed, though let me know a bit more of the picture of what and how you want to do this e.g. automatically downloading / ...

Sorry to hear that Mike. I newer bothered to learn perl back in the days due to some mail list members harassing everyone that was not native English speakers/writers. But, as you can see from my backlog, I'm not a frequent user of the forum anymore. Happy to say it is not due to disagreements with ...

I always run frugal without a save file and can confirm that a swap file/partition will be used if the system runs low on memory. A handy trick is to make a swapfile on the fly when you realize your going to run out of space (load 50 tabs in firefox with graphics and wait for it   ). https...

Using extrasfs in Fatdog64 721 boot parameters [SOLVED]
I\m new to extrasfs. The last time I tried it I did not get it to work and then I forgot about it. But as It happens I'm preparing a seminar on linux for the local MakerSpace. As PuppyLinux is the best entry level system I have come across. And the fact that it seems to "just work" on anyt...

Nice job @rerwin Unfortunately, as of writing it looks like the web pages has changed, breaking this tool. For some reason I stumbled upon the beta version of get_java before I found this 1.0.1 version. I got the beta working. Unfortunately those changes could not be merged into the 1.0.1 config fil...

Switch to or launch application
I have played with openbox (fatdog64-721) tonight. Turns out there are lots of keybinding options that makes sense. While playing I came across a question from someone that wanted an application to be brought to the foreground if it was running or launched if it was not. Apparently Ubuntus unity has...

@jafadmin: semms like minicom and picocom is left out in fatdog. A terminal cli solution is to use platformio device monitor witch launch a miniterm.py session with some custom settings. GUI dialog tool and serial IO (Solved)
Hello, For my arduino projects I have started to wonder if it possible to use some kind of dialog program, like GtkDialog, and serial communication to make a frontend on a PC. I want as few dependencies as possible. From the top of my head I think I can make a dialog and send commands down the seria...
