Good work, ProgRob.

Well, it probably is, but I can't get it going.
I am using TahrPup 6.0.5, with the standard JWM.
D/L Pet, installed, grabbed every libwnck-1 that I can find, and none of them work.

Is there a version anywhere that I can use ?

Regards,
Phil

Hi mochimoppel,

I checked in PPM, and the current Tahr version is 1.3. Seems a bit old to me ?
Thanks for the link - I'll take a look.

Thanks, zigbert, for your help.
I did visit that thread, but as you say, he seems to have withdrawn JWMDesk.
I have posted on that thread, maybe he will get back to me.

Thanks once again for your perseverance !

Ooh, its good to be back with Puppy !

Hi radky, Dangnabit, I installed Tahr pup 6.0.5, and am greatly enjoying puppy after a break for a couple of years. The current JWMDesk manager is 1.3, and does not seem to support adding shortcuts for the mouse buttons. Zigbert pointed me to this thread, and I find that you have withdrawn JWMDesk-2...

Thanks for the reply, Zigbert. Tahr does use JWM, and it is possible to add keyboard shortcuts. But how you add a mouse click I don't know, nor what the command is to display the desktop list. There is the JWMDesk Manager, but I can't see anyway of adding mouse shortcuts. If anyone has any ideas I w...

Configuring Mouse middle button

Hi guys, I have just started using TahrPup 6.0.5, after an absence from Puppy for a while. *Sorry !* And I have to say, I am enjoying using puppy again enormously. So simple, so fast, and no annoying su/sudo popping up every time I want to do anything. I apologise in advance if this question seems s...

Hi,
It appears that gtkdialog on my system is a symlink to gtkdialog3.
I edited bmi-gui to call gtkdialog4, and all is well...

Oops.....

Hi, I have d/l and installed BMI, but 'fraid it doesn't work for me. I am running Lucid528 with update 002. I get the following message when run from a terminal: ** ERROR **: gtkdialog: Error in line 30, near token 'string': syntax error aborting... /usr/local/BMI-gui/bmi-gui: line 304: 4268 Aborted...

Hi all, First time I tried it, there were spaces in the filename of the pdf I wanted to view. No-go. Replaced the spaces with dashes, got the pdf displayed, pages progressed but as a 'flat' file, no cube. Figured out that if I wanted the cube to revolve, I needed to put the page numbers in the 'tran...

@steven_e007, Nice to hear from a fellow staffie...or rather, ex-staffie !! It was just that I was wondering if Windows had automatically converted the filenames to uppercase - it has happened... Hope it gets sorted for you. I have been a puppy fan for quite a while, A brilliant system - Lucid 528 i...

Hi,
Sorry to butt in, but it's not something simple, like the filenames being uppercase, perhaps ?

Thanks, Aitch,

I will have a look at those links. I am leaning towards a remaster, which I have realised might be the best way.

Thanks for your help - appreciated.

Converting frugal install to full install

Hi all, I have Slacko 53 as a frugal install. And it works very well. So now I would like to convert it into a full install to a HD partition. I have installed several programs, and my desktop is setup as I like it. Would I have to start all over again ? Or... Can I install Slacko to the partition, ...

Whoo-hoooo !!! Thanks, guys, for the swift response. @Lobster, thanks for the link. Due to 'fun' that I have had with PETs in the past, when I download a PET I extract it to a temporary folder first, to see what it contains, and what might be overwritten. Your link reminded me that when I downloaded...

What the heck are Magic files? (Solved)

Hi all, I had been having a browse through the ROX files, just nosing. I did NOT change anything, delete anything, or move anything. But now, for some reason, if I RC a file and choose 'Properties', I get the following message outlined in red. This happens on all filetypes. Thunar and EmelFM give th...

Hi phil666, I only recently 'discovered' Rox panels, and I found the same as yourself. My solution was to create a simple script called 'sidebar', make it executable, and put it in the Startup folder in /root. The script contained the following: #!/bin/sh exec rox -b=mypanel & Works for me..... ...
