Also, as I think you know, some creative people have found a way to boot a cd-rom with grub using oldbios.img. I wish I could say that's what I meant, but I didn't Bruce B: if you read my last post, you will see that i finally did manage to get the drive working using Grub4Dos and your oldbios.img ...

Hi bruce.
It does't really work as i can only fit EITHER the diskdrive OR the CD.

I did try to copy the format.com onto the disk and format the harddrive with the /s swithch to transfer your bootprogram to c:
but alas it doesn't work.

any other ideas guys?

Hi. I am trying to install puppy on an old laptop that is just a little too old for supporting cd boot. It has got a slot that can be used for either cd or floppy. It is, however, not hotswappable and the computer has to be turned off before switching between them Therefore I cannot use the bootdisk...
