pupRadio URLs
URL Radio Finder tool: (from our friends over at Ubuntu Linux) http://www.xatworld.com/radio-search/ Thanks for such a fun tool. Recommend adding it to the first post for Pupsters to test and use. So far, every radio station I've tested using http://www.xatworld.com/radio-search/ has worked so far....

This site:
http://peebee.5gbfree.com/share/lxpup/eye-candy/
is where my browser tries to go when I click "Downloads" in the LxPup Appearance Changer.
However the link's is 404'd.
Is there a replacement link?

HOWTO: Access a .2/.3/.4fs filesystem
Yeah, I goofed up my lxpupsave-testing.4fs save file. When I try to boot from it -- I get a Kernel Panic (no fun!) message. If you're in the same position, you're probably feeling a bit of "panic" yourself. I can't guarantee this will work every time. It depends on how badly damaged your s...

Interestingly, I came across the same Unknown option -R when debugging a script that comes with puppy. The script's name is remasterpup2 found in /usr/sbin I ran it using bash -x remasterpup2 (debugging mode) to see what command used the -R but without any success. Here is the output with roughly 15...

New Puppy Startup - update 1
SCROLL TO MESSAGE BOTTOM for info on how to get this working. I thought I'd share what I use as Puppy Linux start-up screens. Here's how it works. Currently starting a Puppy CD gives us the option of pressing F2 for Help or F3 for advanced help. F1 returns us to the splash screen. This is good! I s...

Hard Drive spindown thru hdparm
While there may be a system-based way to tell Puppy Linux drives to spin down when not needed, my version doesn't supply this. Manual Method (Install the latest hdparm ) 1. From PupControl: click the Install tab, Add/Remove Programs 2. Search for and install (if not already installed) the latest hdp...

Re: the way to get there
PHATSlacko has most of your needs. Just needs Jey's LXpup changes for LXDE and other desktops. yes... and it uses an adrive . It would be a good one to base next lxpup -slacko on.. or you can wait .. I intend to build a different puplet, minimal, but with adrive possibility. It will be an id...

Re: Files I added to the USB thumbdrive
--Can I do this to the one I am using? Or does this have to be done to a clean install? I think I'd like to try this and have separate saves too. Feel free to follow the same steps on your copy of Puppy Linux. The idea is: 1. Copy the files mentioned in my post to your USB SanDisk stick. The MSG fi...

Files I added to the USB thumbdrive
I installed Lxpup Precise 12.12 to my thumbdrive. However, the USB boot from the thumbdrive didn't give me the CD's start up options. To restore those options to your USB thumbdrive (RAM drive), copy these files from the Lxpup CD to your USB stick: boot.msg help.msg help2.msg logo.16 Then, using lea...
