Arghh, sorry. I think i can see the problem. There is a broken link somewhere (although i have run 0setup) a few times. runing 1download: basically, the ffmpeg that is being downloaded is: ffmpeg-2010-05-12-q1.pet Which is from quirky. It is trying to find: /mplayer-1.0rc2-071007-1.pet in quirky for...

mplayer not built agst ffmpeg libs.Packages-puppy-4-official
Hey there, I've wrestling with Woof and building my own puplet and trying to get mplayer running. I am using the default Woof installation with ubuntu packages. Execpt i am trying to pick up the puppy mplayer and surrounding libraries. It seems that the: libavutil, libavcodec and libavformat librari...

Ok, i'm kind of getting it now. But here's two issues: I've gone into my Disto_spec-ubuntu.... file and added a few libraries... say libavcodec. I've also decided i want to take firefox from the pet packages... NOT from ubuntu. So I say yes to a few libraries and modify the firefox line to have an e...

My menu.lst is: # Linux bootable partition config begins title BoltOS (on /dev/sda6) root (hd0,5) kernel /root/woof-tree/sandbox3/build/vmlinuz pmedia=atahd psubdir=/root/woof-tree/sandbox3/build/ nos...

thanks tubby, I've now done a succesful build. I understand what i need to be doing with DISTRO_SPEC-ubuntu... as this was similar to unleashed. But how do I add a package, knowing where it comes from? In other words, If i want to make sure the package is picked up from the ubuntu sources, NOT the p...

Questions about using Woof
Hey guys, So, i'm well rehearsed in unleashed as i've created a few puplets in my time... but woof. Man, i'm not enjoying this. I'm getting there though. I have lots of questions and i need help! So i've downloaded woof using bones. I've modified the DISTRO specs so i can create my own Lucid. #One o...

Ok, I've found the problem, I'm not sure i understand woof enough. I have just got woof using bones and i've run through each step. It's downloaded all the pets and packages for lucid 501. But it doesn't download the kernel pet. Does anybody know what i should be doing here? When i try to do a build...

puplet boot from usb, can't find .sfs file
I've done this many times before, but i can't remember the resolution! I've installed a frugal onto a USB stick and it works fine. I've then built my own puplet using woof. I removed the lupu_501.sfs and initrd.gz file from the usb. I copied in, my build .sfs: puplet_501.sfs and the initrd.gz file f...

I have tried all of that. I've re-created partition table as msdos and formatted as fat16 and fat 32... no change. But I've done some extra testing and this is weird: If i switch to using 'mut' in pmount then it recognises it as a usb drive. In fact it mounted it as sdc instead of sdb. I was then ab...

USB flash drive only recognised as a floppy drive
I'm sure this is very simple, but i'm running 5.01, full hard disk install. When i plug a USB drive into the machine. Puppy event manager picks it up fine. Usually it is mounted as /dev/sdb. but for some reason it is being seen as a floppy device. Opening pmount it is seen as a floppy as well. This ...

Moving Full HD install of puppy to another PC.
It's been A long while since i've posted on these forums. About 8 months ago i wrote two puplets, pupeez and eezos. Since then i had to move house and it looks like i'm never going to get back to them! But i have a problem: I need to get rid of my PC that had the puplet development installation on t...

I'm struggling to get time to get my PC up and running and working back on eezos. I will be there though i promise! Eezos seems to download fine ...

gopup, I'm really sorry. I've just bought myself a flat that needs alot of work done to it. So i haven't been supporting eeZos for a while. Amongst all the carnage i had to move hosting providers, hence why it's dissappeared. The next version of eeZos will have eyeOs installed in the OS, then use rs...

Lobster, Thanks for your comments. My feelings are split with this. I still believe people like feeling ownership of something and they also want to see all their belongings in one easy to manage place. The problem i see with the cloud computing world at the moment is that it is very disjointed. The...
