Locks up completely upon boot - randomly
I'm running pup-430-small on a Dell Mini 10 I think my lockups have to do with the Intel GMA500 graphics chip. I'm not sure. My monitor is never detected in xorg auto detect. I enclosed the last /var/log/messages file from the last good boot. I since rmmod the lib80211_crypt_tkip module, since it se...

Thank you, at least I'm starting to get somewhere now. :) I loaded the module as described above, then I blacklisted b43 because it was showing errors upon booting puppy 4.3b3. I wasn't able to get any scan results until I loaded another module: modprobe lib80211_crypt_tkip Then upon next reboot, bl...

I tried to compile this on puppy 4.3 beta 3, but failed.
I'm also waiting for the wl.ko module to become available for 2.6.30.5 kernel

Intel GMA500 chipset & Poulsbo drivers. These work on Puppy?
Is it possible to "convert" the below: "Guide to Get Ubuntu Display to work on Dell Mini 10" and make this work in Puppy? I'm currently using puppy 4.3 beta 3, but I'm asking if this can be done on any '4.xx' version of puppy. These guides are for enabeling the HD screen on the M...

[Solved] Puppy 4.3 beta 3 [kernel panic] will not boot full
See post #5 for solution. This is a full install of Puppy I'm trying this beta because 424 and this one (425) detects my hard drive on my Dell mini-10 netbook, and seems to run smoothly from the CD boot image. I tried 4.2.1 standard and my drive wasn't detected. BTW, what is the difference between ...

I just found a page that shows my card uses the b43 driver. http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#KnownPCIdevices using this command lspci -vnn | grep 14e4 I get this 03:00,0 Class 0280: 14e3:4315 (rev 01) According to the table there, it shows this for my card: PCI-ID State Chip Driver 14e4...

Back to my original question. Why doesn't puppy with the later 2.6.25.16 kernel detect my hard drive? I am trying puppy-413-NOP-r1 It has also got the 2.6.25.16 kernel. There is no hard drive detected. How can the 2.6.21.7 kernel versions detect the HDD when 2.6.25.16 kernel versions cannot? I have ...

Firstly bear in mind that the wl driver may not work for your card. The package for kernel 2.6.25 also disables the ssb and b43 drivers....I believe if these still load they will interfere with the wl driver.... mike I used rmmod on ndiswrapper b43 ssb bcm43xx b43legacy None were previously loaded....
