Auto Saves
Greengeek: I don't have enough knowledge about how these scripts interact in these newer puppy versions to be of help ... mainly just an end-user with ideas gleaned from others and a few reference notes. Just thought I would set that line to "0" and see what happens .... RAMSAVEINTERVAL=0...

Auto saves made in flash manual save only mode
Greengeek: Yes actual auto saves are made to my frugal install Saluki 22 usb flashdrive. I made a test file and saved it to root in geany but did not do a manual save to flash. About 10 min. later the "save to flash" splash popped in on screen followed by cpu and usb light activity. I wai...

Auto save
Greengeek: Good point about checking on checking for an actual save ... will try adding a file and see it that gets saved automatically but it doesn't seem to happen very time I boot up .... auto saves on two different sessions today .... none yesterday. ... Will try to narrow down the problem. KJ

Saluki is auto saving in manual save only mode
Saluki 22 is auto saving in manual save only mode. I have doing some on-line puppy forum posting and Saluki puts up a "saving" splash screen and goes thru. the cpu and usb activity sequence of a save (at least once every 10 minute) while I'm supposed to be in a "0" interval pupsa...

pUPnGo 2012 on a partitioned flashdrive
Keef ... Your suggestion is correct ... pPUnGo2012 does need a ext partition (I have not ran into that issue before but could have guessed from goingnuts's installation comments). So I made a small ext2 partition (128MB) on my usb flashdrive (actually a 8GB SD with a mix of ext2 and fat32 partition...

Take time
jemimah .... Projects need to wait sometimes... Take care of yourself first. Sounds like many "new jobs" are a trial by fire these days (let's see how many fires can you put out before you burn out ... or blow up). Thanks for the update ... good to hear that you are OK just busy.. Thanks.....

source file
I loaded up your md5sum pet on Fluppy and Saluki. Easy to use and works well on both OSs. Fluppy uses Rox so the right click options are directly accessible. In Saluki with Thunar the right click options are under "send to". An interesting note, If I highlite or "copy" a MD5 sum ...

On line now
It works. Posting from pUPnGo 2012 now with Dillo using live CD and auto-connect. Thanks for the advise ... will try the wifi and usb later. Goingnuts ... I have followed your work on this project for a long time but haven't had the nerve to actually try to load a version as my CLI (and general typi...

KJ Your first line is wrong - it looks for the initrd.gz, not the sfs. Try this: title pUPnGo2012 find --set-root --ignore-floppies /initrd.gz kernel /vmlinuz pmedia=usbflash pfix=fsck initrd /initrd.gz Sorry ... no go. With that first line Lupu-528 (partition with grub4dos) is called up. Put files...

can not find pup-412.sfs
I am trying to run pUPnGo 2012 from a USB flash drive using grub4dos as the loader. There are several pups on partitions. This one is on a fat32 (not the .ext2 with the grub4dos files). It starts to load .... stops at "looking for puppy files on drives" then exits with "can not locate...

Save to Flash Problems
I spoke too soon ... I too see an unexpected "save to flash" pop up while running a save interval of 0 in pup-mode 13 in Saluki 22 while running from a usb flash. I don't remember this happening in earlier Saluki versions, Fluppy, Pupeee, lucid-528, or DpupExp-5x31103. It does not appear a...

No Save
I've been running this frugal "manual save only" mode (13) in Saluki (and other Puppies) using USB and SD flash drives for a long time with very little problem. Just by setting the save interval to "0" with no "+or-". You can check out /etc/rc.d/rc.shutdown around line ...

WM switcher
Dromeno .... Thanks for the screen shot .... that explains a lot as none of the JWM or ICEwm (except config.) items show anywhere in my control panel. I upgraded my save-file from 019 thru 022 and this morning I have ICEwm menus showing up in both ICEwm and XFCE4. Bad save-file I guess. Time to star...

Where did you find it in the control panel? I looked at everything in the desktop section with no joy. Even upgraded to 022 ... still no joy. KJDromeno wrote:Thanks Jemimah.. the switcher is at an unexpected place but it works fine!.

Xfce taskbar plugin color issues
I am having some minor Xfce taskbar plugin color issues in 019 that I don't remember having in earlier versions. The plugins work but the CPU graph, Network monitor, and Sensor plugin background color do not change when I select a different taskbar background color and I can not change the individua...

CUPS ... Canon MX340 does not print
I am also having CUPS issues in both 016 and 017. CUPS IDs and seems to set up my Canon MX340 but nothing is printed. Jobs show as finished but printer stays inactive. I am running Midori as my sole browser. MX340 works correctly with Fluppy 012 but there I needed to install the canon_mx340-3.30.pet...
