My Ideas Puppy 5

it seems they were always bad .png's. 4.2.1 would still read them is all. unfortunately the only fix is to copy the bad files to an empty folder, load 4.2.1 and fix them using 4.2.1's image viewer. what a pain in the rear.

thought of that so i copied versions from a known good drive with same results. these .pngs will read in 4.2.1 but not in 4.3.1 (or at least the one modded for broadcom.) interesting bug these .png's will read if i use firefox to read them. but not other graphics programs. even though they come in t...

Some .png files won't open

what are the programs responsible for graphics handling? I have a little glitch of not being able to read certain .png files and need to know which files to replace, and where they are located

thanks , but i still have one more question. How would you get sda2 to automount at boot so that the boot sequance can read the information from the pup_save.2fs and load. I am pretty sure that this cannot be accomplished by editing .xinitrc and adding a mount command for sda2 as any changes would b...

I will try this out as soon as is possible. the question is how would you go about saving and loading the pup_save.2fs file on sda2, or can this be set up during installation.

Installing puppy like Slax(well sorta)

I am wondering if its possible to run puppy by just copying the contents of the cd to a partition, and then installing any other .pets to a second partition. this way the puppy files are write protected. this would also allow a user to repair puppy in case of crash, or upgrading the main puppy witho...

just open the .sfs and copy contents to / ,at least thats how i do it. yes it works in 4.3.1 as well, though you have to convert the .sfs to .sfs4 to read it.
either way follow the instructions to the letter. I just wish it had gnome do and docky as well.

i am going to try the first option and see if 4.2.1 retro fixes the issue. I am fairly sure its not a memory mismatch as i removed the second module and it still did it. Oh well we will see
