Mark, I installed your Muppy 0084 Alpha today and am very impressed with it's potential. I had already gotten WOW's test implementation of gnome-2.2.0 and have been amazed at his work. However, your implemention seems to be even better especially since you have the Desktop Environment Chooser to cho...

Puppy 4 NOP: USB mouse is jerky on Sony laptop

Mouse control of the pointer is very jerky to the point of not being able to control it. Touchpad mouse control is very stable. This is also true with other versions of Puppy using pfix=ram. It is a 2 button wheel optical mouse on a Sony Laptop, Model PPG-995L, 64MB ram, using Pup 400 nop. Is there ...

Mark, Thanks for your reply, that's the technique that I use also, but it doesn't work with this distribution. I've also tried changing the icons in the desktop Rox window using set icon. However, although they will change in the Rox window, the actual desktop still goes to a default icon. Do you kn...

Eyes Only,
Update,
Don't know what happened, but now I can see the icon directories and change panel icons with ease using the same procedure described above. Still haven't discovered how to change desktop icons.

Thanks for your help.

Eyes Only, Thanks for your reply. I've tried your suggestions with no luck. To change the icons, I right clicked on the panel icon, selected properties, then clicked on the icon in the Launcher Properties box. This opened a dialog box that loaded the available icons, none of which were appropriate. ...

WOW! Another happy nooby user. Even though this is a test version, I may be using it for my default desktop. I really like the Evolution PIM and Email Client. One Question for now, How do you change the icons on the launchers on the desktop and the panel. ie. Using OOo sfs I can place launchers on b...

I'm a new puppy user who has been having a great time learning about this superb product. It's amazing what you all have accomplished with puppy in such a short time. This distribution is very stable on my Dell Dimension 8250. One problem though, Gparted Partition Manager fails to recognize the part...

Wolf Pup

Thank you for the adobe_acrobat_reader-8.1.2.pet file. Athough it's a large application, it works, which I can't say for Foxit and others that I've tried. Although, off topic, I've enjoyed using other pet files posted by you ie Firefox 3.00.

Thank you for sharing,
Jim

ttuuxxx Thank you for making it so simple to install a complex package like Bibletime. Using Barry's 402 Beta, Mu's KDE 3.5.8 sfs, and your Gslapt, my installation worked perfectly. I continue to be amazed at the quality information and programs that are being shared by so many of you in the Puppy c...

Muggins, thanks for your help.

I had already installed QT-3.3.8pet, based on your previous comment, with some change. The console output is attached. P-find cannot locate libGLU.so.1. Prior to installation of Qt-3 the error was in finding libqt-mt.so3 which P-find cannot locate either.

Thanks for pointing me to f-prot and avast. I will be trying them, didn't realize that clamav was command line. That's another problem, my console keeps informing me that there is no such file or dir when I try to execute a bash command. There's nothing like trying to learn a new OS.

Installation of Clamav(Solved)

Brand new at Puppy. Clamav installs but will not execute. It does not install a menu item, but apparently installs a hidden file in the Start folder, at least according to Pfind. However, opening the Start folder with hidden files shown, it does not show up. Are there any better AV programs for Pupp...
