getfdprm works!!
Hi. Just tested getfdprm on puppy 1.0.8r1 on thinkpad 770z without a floppy.
./getfdprm
... No such device
immediate response.
So it looks like that this is a tool for checking if a floppy is present..
Just the size: 80kb..?
PS

Yes, because you can get away with probably only 32MB memory
Hi. That would be good, if install goes right into script without X11 etc.
Should work than with 32MB ram... Good for old, cheap laptops etc..

Community based Puppy 1.0.9
Hi everyone. My thoughts on that: GREAT Chance! Now what makes a community project? The community! So we need a way, that the community can take part in the decision process for this version. That is similiar as in the past, but probably should be somehow more formal and transparent to everyone. One...

SimplePup crashes on 64; 128; 196MB Ram
Hi, SimplePup crashes on 64; 128; 196MB Ram! I know about this problem before. There is a size parameter somewhere in rc.sysinit?, that checks the available free memory against the space needed and then decides whether to copy usr_cram.fs or not.. I assume that the sizes of initrd.gz + usr_cram.fs h...

Another wish for 1.0.9
Hi, maybe that is already over the rim for 1.0.9, but I like to mention it anyway. It would be nice, if all that comes with standard puppy compared to a bare bones one, could be easely removed from it to get towards a bare bones puppy... Just remember what pizzaspup hat to do to get there.. Just ins...

What is the >>best<< browser
Hi Lobster. Mozilla seems the most stable. I think composer is the stumbling block but there are ways around that. What you seem to be asking is please make something else the default because I prefer it. No? My point is, that IF mozilla would be a stable browser, I personally would NOT care, whethe...
