Transmission Update
I managed to get 2.92 but need 2.93 or 2.94 for my book site. The Tahr pet that I have doesn't work. Any suggestions?
Re: Transmission Update
Transmission 2.94 is in the repo of ubuntu cosmic: https://packages.ubuntu.com/cosmic/transmissionFishy wrote:I managed to get 2.92 but need 2.93 or 2.94 for my book site. The Tahr pet that I have doesn't work. Any suggestions?
Or you could try compiling the source in upupBB.

Autoplay confirmed in 18.05 +10, both CDs and DVDs on the i5 based laptop. Done both for a pristine boot and for my updated savefile (modified to integrate pcmanfm sans gvfs into upupbb) using the 64b 4.17.10 kernel. Audio CD can be ejected from pmusic, No eject capibility in gnome-mplayer for DVD that I can see.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Pups currently in kennel :D Older LxPupSc and X-slacko-4.4 for my users; LxPupSc, LxPupSc64 and upupEF for me. All good pups indeed, and all running savefiles for look'n'feel only. Browsers, etc. solely from SFS.
Thanks Marv - with JWM you do get a desktop icon and you can right click on sr0 to eject the cd/dvd.....Marv wrote:Autoplay confirmed in 18.05 +10, both CDs and DVDs on the i5 based laptop. Nice work peebee, upupbb-18.05+9 running well on Dell E6400 XFRwith nvidia card with nouveau driver detected during boot, kernel 4.9.96
Installed the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-304.137.run package and compiled after installing the devx, kernel sources and kernel headers. Everything good.
If anyone wants NVIDIA-Linux-x86-304.137 pet it is available here 43.3MB md5 e736be252c3e33a66338bb85f8c5075d
automatically disables nouveau driver just requires a reboot after install and run nvidia setup from menu with Applications --->Setup --->NVIDIA X Server Settings
Supported video cards for the 304.137 driver are at this link
https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverR ... 3708/en-us

Hello . How do I remove the checkbox "Disable Wireless Device Polling". I am attaching the picture in Russian.
If after the start of the system I forget to turn it off, then after 5 minutes the modem falls asleep.
Configs did not find any.
Another question, after installing the NVIDIA drivers, does not want to run the switch
Xneur. How can I fix it or use something else?

Mouse click the wireless device polling line either turns it off or turns it on.shelezyaka wrote:Hello . How do I remove the checkbox "Disable Wireless Device Polling". I am attaching the picture in Russian.
?
When you click it the window closes.
When you right click the network icon again to open the window, it will be changed.
I do not know about Xneur.

Greetings.
I want to completely switch to upupbb 18.05 + 10, I still sit (sitting) on the precise 5.4.3. On UPup Bionic spinning everything is new without problems. Installing systems for use is always full. I need a switch for Russian-English layouts. Installed Xneur, with the standard section in xorg.conf
it did not work at all, do not pay attention the section is now commented out.
Using the method of scientific poking, I found out and appended another
With this section, layouts are switched, BUT! . Everytime when the system boots, xorg.conf is rewritten - why, I do not understand? Iron does not change, and of course in "XkbLayout" there is only "us"
How to prevent rewriting this config when starting?
This garbage was formed after installing the proprietary drivers on Nvidia several posts above.

Something to look at, this person had xorg.conf changed during reboot and fixed by changing immutable bit on xorg.conf file using the utility chattr
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=173325
Info about chattr https://www.tecmint.com/chattr-command-examples/
If chattr is used to set immutable bit +i the file cannot be changed until the immutable bit is removed -i
You do not need sudo command, puppy already runs as root
Hope it helps, I have never used chattr

While I solved the blunt crass method, adding a line of code to /etc/rc.d/rc.local
Proposed try tomorrow. Thank you.[/code]
Code: Select all
sed -i 's / Layout "" us / Layout "" us, ru /' /etc/X11/xorg.conf

No good way to hash SHA1, SHA256, & CRC32 except from the command line.
I installed gtkhash from the ubuntu bionic repository and did not like how it looked, it did work ok though.
I just ended up using the gtkhash from precise puppy. Works good and looks good.
It is in this pet file attached.

Good day.
Why are WiFi modems not defined classically as wlan0 wlan1 and so on, but what is not clear
identifier, in this case "wlxb0487a9366fa". And each for a different WiFi or a computer. Very uncomfortable ! I have conky installed and every time I change the device, I need to change the ID in the rows. How to get around this inconvenience
