1st let me say puppy rules and so do all the dedicated folks that
gave it life. been playin puppy trainer a few weeks now and love
it. tried a dozen versions or more all are doing this same thing on
this laptop.

ok its a toshiba satellite a65. worthless piece of @#$! but it was free
so im not knockin it too much. im not going thru what all is in it cause
it all works flawless in puppy 2.14 with all drivers. but it has an ATIXP
sound in it. alsa finds it and it works great till i reboot and then i have
to do alsa all over everytime. and of course when puppy has no sound
at boot i have to set mixer everytime lol.

ive been thru this forum searchin and diggin for 2 weeks and found
lots on this subject but they either didnt work or i was to dumb to
understand. im not really new to nix nor puters but this 1 has me
scratchin my half bald head. this is on a full harddrive install small 6gig
junk box drive. if i ever get this sound figured out ill put puppy on a
partition on the 60gig that has xp on it. ive installed lots of pups on
same or like drives and like i say all do same thing.

any ideas or help would be much appreciated b4 i lose what little hair
i have in my ponytail.

and just to pump up the puppy coders a tad i have beside me a stack
of about 25 dif nix live install cds and they all suck on this piece of
@#$% puppy works FLAWLESS.

thx guys/gals long live puppylinux

work around found sorta.
after testing alsa off after a boot and alsa back on i had sound.
this was using rc.alsa stop
and rc.alsa start
i then had sound
so i just added stop and start to tail of rc.local and on reboot
i have sound and saved mixer settings.

im sure there is a better fix but it works for me.
alsa was starting on boot but not proper. when i did an
alsa stop it said something about mixer and then alsa start
would start it fine.
