tahrPup 6.05 lost sound

#1 Post by fernan »

Hello. One of my 4 computers running tahrpup 6.05 developed a problem: Sound card is not recognized anymore ("no sound device detected"), but if I boot in RAM mode, ignoring my session, it works OK.

Is there any config file that I should remove to force a new auto detection, same what happens in a fresh install?

Thanks !

Yes, everything was working, but one day I realized the "Retrovol" icon was slashed, and when tried to adjust the volume setting, I saw the sound card is not detected.

Rebooted in RAM mode, and the sound card is detected. Rebooted with my saved session, no sound card detected .

Any ideas? Should I delete some Alsa config files to force a new auto detect?

I managed to solve this problem and wanted to share the solution, just in case somebody looks for this answer in the future.

I deleted the 2 following files:

Code: Select all

/etc/asound.conf

Code: Select all

/etc/asound.state
After a reboot, my soundcard was detected again.

I'm pretty sure reinstalling apulse as i suggested would've done the same thing
