2.14 "utility" menu item is different size
I've tried several different resolutions, the items under the "utility" menu are all in 640X480(huge & blocky), all the other menus change appropriately.

The same thing happened to me. The HP icon was the culprit. (from installing HPLIP). I just deleted the reference to the icon and everything was fine.

Check to see if the menu includes anything you've installed.

Check to see if the menu includes anything you've installed.
Just checked, looks like it's all the distro supplied program icons.
