Connecting to a TS Gateway with Wary Puppy |
|
Hello all! I've got some old thin clients (HP Compaq T500 with 800 MHz and 128 MB of RAM) and I wanted to reuse them for connecting to a TS Gateway. I installed Wary Puppy 5.5 for this purposes and I've tried connecting to a local terminal server with rdesktop just for testing and it works pretty nice, but I think you can't connect to a TS Gateway with it. I've found something about xfreerdp but I don't even know how to install it as I don't find the package in the package manager.
Do you have any clue or a way to connect to a remote TS Gateway with Wary Puppy?
PS: Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this or my english is not very good, thanks.

Hello Markis145.
Welcome to the kennels!
I hope you will find this forum friendly and helpful!
~~~~~
Sorry for being so dumb, but do you mean:
-- an old Gateway computer (they had the B&W "cowhide" logo), model TS
OR
-- a real Internet gateway named TS?
TIA for the clarification.
Best regards.
Thanks for your response!
By TS Gateway I mean a Windows Server with a Gateway service installed and configured so you can connect to it with a RDP client outside the local network.
No, what he needs is something more like the Windows version of vnc.
OP, I'm not sure why you say rdesktop won't work for you. Try remmina maybe. There is a pet for an old version that might work here.
What you are looking for is called tsclient, I think. Anyways, that is what I have installed on Precise 5.7.1
Sometimes it's called RDP client, or some variation of that. https://linuxaria.com/recensioni/4-linux-programs-to-open-a-remote-desktop-on-windows
I use Remmina on Mint, and tsclient on puppy ..
Thank you for all your responses!
Rdesktop doesn't work for me becouse it doesn't have the feature to connect to a Windows Server Terminal Services Gateway, the same happens when using Remmina, the latest version I found on a pet package is a little bit old, and it doesn't have this feature. The best part is that the latest version of Remmina supports this... but I don't know if I can install it on a Puppy.
