I think Nouveau may be the problem.
Try using a Nvidia driver for the graphics hardware.
My results trying to install and use Steam

Bluetooth
Hello 666philb,
I want to thank you for your help and for the time you spent trying to solve the Bluetooth problem. But I'm discouraged because I can't get anywhere. I followed your recommendations for Janky Bluetooth and then Blueman and, that same message still appears. I blame myself for not being knowledgeable enough to understand the why and how of the how
It seems that few people seem concerned about this difficulty... or maybe I am an "extra-terrestrial"
So be it! I wish you a happy Christmas and don't let Bluetooth cause you nightmares. Regards, petihar.

hi takenp, takenp wrote:Still can't run Steam on Bionicpup 64. Even with 32_bit_compatibility sfs and nouveau drivers getting OpenGL errors with nouveau_dri...
any ideas?
thx
seems that the wrong 32bit llvm version is in the 32bit compatibility sfs, i've re-uploaded the .sfs. .... or you can install http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/m ... 2_i386.deb
you might need to run ldconfig in a terminal after install.
but as bigpup says... if you want to game and have an nvidia card, install the official nvidia drivers as nouveau is a bit rubbish

Bionicpup64 lets me only 1640x1440 as maximum definition meanwhile tahrpup and Xenial ever allow me achieve HD 1920x1080 bit.
Waiting for migrate to Bionic final version.
what graphics card have you got?

btw how did you figure out it was llvm library?
Wrong 32bit llvm version was your problem with Steam?
Nouveau driver was not also the problem?

hi takenp & bigpup,
steam is 32bit so the nouveau error pointed to a problem with the 32bit compatibility sfs. right clicked on /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dri/nouveau_dri.so and ran radkys ListLDD and it showed libLLVM-6.0.so.1 missing.
the 32bit compatibility sfs was made very early on when bionicpup was early alpha (before being posted on the forum). it involved building a rough & ready 32bit bionic build with woofce and grabbing the needed libs out of that for the sfs. It was built so early though that the build recipe still had some xenial stuff in it, libLLVM5. i should probably completely rebuild it
concerning nouveau and games ... some will work but a lot of modern stuff will struggle and not work or will have poor performance. i'ld actually recommend installing the nvidia driver whether you game or not as it's far superior.
BTW there's quite a bit of free content on steam ... on the store page , where the search bar is, click on games and free to play.
also check out the specials as you sometimes get AAA games for a couple of quid (uk pounds)
merry xmas

blueman doesn't work and has probably broken janky_BT so uninstall all of it
then click on quickpet bionic updates to reinstall janky_BT
follow the instructions ... and after clicking 'start bluetooth' in the bluetoothctl terminal window (just enter stuff after the [bluetooth]#)
[bluetooth]# agent KeyboardOnly
[bluetooth]# default-agent
[bluetooth]# power on
then unpair all your devices and start afresh
example ....[bluetooth]# remove 00:12:6F:AD:14:7C
then follow the rest of instructions for pairing & trusting connecting
if still no success we can arrange a time on hexchat #puppylinux to try and work through it
BTW i've been streaming my uploaded google music collection through my bluetooth speaker for most of the day , no problems

Packagelist
Hi Philb,
First: Great work you do there. Many Thanks.
But I have one more please:
can you put a list with the current packages including version number online?
That would be great because unfortunately it is not obvious.
I using Tahrpup64 since 2015 but today it's really out of date. That's the reason I'm looking for a new OS and the packages are very interesting for me.
Greetings

Hi Bigpub,
First of thanks for the answer but I did not mean that. The fact that the whole OS is still in the beta, come even more updates. But since I do not want to download the latest version again and again, it would be quite easy to offer a text file of the packages (e.g. dpkg -l) for download with every new release. would it be possible? that would be great. Until the final release I would like to use tahrpup64.
