Xenialpup 7.5 frugal install

#1 Post by Scott99 »

Ok. So I was able to get openvpn to run on my other computer which has a Slackopuppy 6.3.2 install. Now I'm trying to set up opvenvpn on my CF-29 which as a frugal installation of XenialPup 7.5. I've installed openvpn, however when I type openvpn --config Windscribe-US-East.ovpn in terminal I get "bash openvpn: command not found. Oscar talks used to have a link that made setting all this up very simple. This is where I'm at. Please let me know what else you need to help me and as always, thanks for your patience and support. Scott

I've installed openvpn
How did you install it?
A pet, by using Puppy Package Manager(PPM), what?

Did you use this pet?

You following the procedure posted here:

Notice what step 2 says!
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

Please advise. When I enter openvpn --config Windscribe-US-East.ovpn I get the following error message: ERROR: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2)

I have not encountered this problem before. What do I need to do to fix it? Thanks, Scott

Enter modprobe tun
This should load the tun kernel module
Then try openvpn again
