I am running puppy 2.14 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Celeron and 256MB RAM. Never seen this old laptop run so fast: not even when it was new! Puppy is simply amazing.
One thing that we use that laptop for is to play the StepMania game (open-source dance game). It's the only thing that I still have to fall back on Windoze XP Home for. It took me a while to finally get DRI working on it, so StepMania runs (I use the binary off stepmania.com). However, I can't get it to recognize the dance pads. The dance pads basically use the joystick interface. I read the first item on the StepMania Linux FAQ, and did a modprobe joydev, then check /dev/js?. I have both /dev/js0 and /dev/js1 symlinked to /dev/input/js0 and /dev/input/js1. I still can't get StepMania to recognize the pads.
Can anyone suggest what I can try next? I'd very very much appreciate it! (It will enable me to keep off the dreaded XP forever!)
