thanks for a nice pup, I have been tinkering with pup variants occasionally for few years and this one is best and even able to install printer, redshift. Embarassed Embarassed

there are 2 minor annoyance in pup and maybe someone can comment, 1) is there an easy way to align desktop icons in pups?, I always do it manually... 2) rox seems to open on left side of screen display and prefer to change to right, is there an easy way to do this without having to readjust with mouse each time?

Frugal, save folder.

This is a minor bug, but just so you know about it.

JWMdesk Manager>Mouse Cursor

First time you run this, it gives you the option to download and install the cursor themes package, so there are some to select.

When the themes package downloads and installs.
A message pops up saying the package could not be installed.
However it did install and seems to be good to use.
JWMdesk Manager>Mouse Cursor now shows different cursor themes. They can be selected and used.

hi gychang,

to align drive icons use menu>>desktop>>jwmdesk>>> icon manager
to make manually aligning desktop icons easier, right click on an icon then>>>Rox-filer>>Options>>Pinboard and set 'icon grid step' to medium
once done it's best to set back to fine if you have lots of drives/partitions as it can mess with the alignment of them.
once you have them set how you like you can copy /root/Choices/ROX-Filer/PuppyPin somewhere and use it in other pups.

for rox, maybe ask in the rox thread

Hi Phil

thank you very much. Yes, it is that. Returning into "Exit to prompt", you can open the next console and enter in it with both, root and woofwoof and start an extremely long process like copy all your data or try to compress them all in the same only-one archive (or compile a new system through a script like Nutyx, Nutyx is a precompiled LinuxFromScratch, that you can compile totally yourself at home for your processor and environment).

you can go immediately at any time to CLI console 2 (or 3, or 4 etc.) else out the graphic system (CTRL+ALT+F2 or F3 or F4 etc.) at any time to see if the cursor did reappear and the job is finish (you can control, in this case, the growing of your new archive in console 1 using LS or an CLI file manager like "ranger".

but you have to avoid to go back to the graphic system directly from other console! make better an "exit to prompt" before you go to see into console 2 (ok, your windows will be closed! it is so...)

kind regards
