This is an interesting thread, but I wish it included links to thread and download link.

I don't know if what you're looking for are the originals of 5.7.1..? If so:-

Forum thread is here.

Ibiblio original downloads are here.

Hope that helps. And I agree; the Forum's built-in 'Search' function is, ah, shall we say.....crap? Laughing I get better results using DuckDuckGo or Google, entering a short description of what I'm looking for, then add ' - murga-linux.com' to the end of the search query.

It almost always throws up what I'm looking for, somewhere in the first page of results.

If I was gong to try precise again I'd give Puli a try because the security features sound interesting:
Puli 3.8.3 bark 6, released Nov 2014

The only exception would be is if someone created a version with an updated browser and repo.

I use the customized google search:

Hey, thanks for that, watchdog. I keep meaning to track that one down (other Puppians keep saying it's good), but, as yet, I just haven't got around to it.

You've saved me the trouble.

Cheers.

Hi All,

There's another good search engine. It's actually available from quickpet. But if you're Puppy doesn't have quckpet, the URL is http://puppylinux.us/psearch.html
