Subject description: another lightweight 'init' system

Finit
Fast init for Linux systems. Cookies included

Homepage: https://github.com/troglobit/finit

Quote:
Finit is a simple alternative to SysV init and systemd. It was reverse engineered from the EeePC fastinit ten years ago by Claudio Matsuoka — "gaps filled with frog DNA …"

Focus is on small and embedded systems, although Finit is fully usable on server and desktop systems as well. For working examples, see the contrib/ section with tutorials for:

Alpine Linux,
Debian GNU/Linux, and
Void Linux

Looks good, similar to Minibase (https://github.com/arsv/minibase)
