Puppy9 Logo - needs artist
Did you hear Puppy 8 is out?
Wild yelping and woof-woof . . .
Now we need a logo for Puppy 9
http://www.puppylinux.org/wikka/Puppy9
Anyone with working crayons?
Our first example is in the next post ...

Why does it need an artist when it does not even exit? Ah!
The (un)logic of you people, sometimes...
Also the metaphysical question should be asked:
does it even need to exist, with probably the thousand of Puppies that
already exist, lovingly archived by our unsung hero ally?

Thanks @vovchick
Some great ideas there . . .
Once we have a logo we can use it for xpupsay to perhaps offer help message or similar. Making Puppy friendly for our Puppy Noobs

That's fabulous Lobster - and I really like the yin-yang connotation with it, too. Where did you find it?
Some suggestions -
1. Mean/intense looking cartoon Tux penguin with a spiky dog collar, focus on its Puppy tatoo on an upper flipper (prolly a better background image),
2. Kilroy-like Puppy with nose over the circle of the "9", and
3. That yin and yang -like suggestion of Lobster's is great, perhaps could be more puppified *and* numeral 9 incorporated into the design, perhaps reversed?
UPDATE: Our posts crossed Reminds me of another design idea with a Puppy cocking its leg on a Window's logo - the latter having sagged into a shape resembling the numeral 9 (with or w/o trailing puddle).

Dear Lobster,
That is a great puppy logo - a sort of yin-yang pup. I made svgs out of it. The black and white one is tiny (672 bytes), which is great.
With kind regards,
vovchik

Great job, vovchik
Update: my "effort" to Puppify vovchik's conversion, trying to have Puppy looking up. Giving up for the present time - my crayons and wine have run out...
Update 2b: mucking around - certainly lacks the finesse of a real expert

Dear Puppyt,
I subjected your pup SVG, which is very nice, to a stringent low-fat diet, eliminating all the sodipodi inkscape transfats and carbohydrates. He has lost a lot of weight but seems quite healthy.
With kind regards,
vovchik

ooh-er, vovchik - great job on the trimming, I happened to add another fat puppy needing a similar diet treatment as you posted. Perhaps eventually I will learn to do better with Inkscape - cheers!

Dear Puppyt,
Here is a trimmed version of 2b. He seems pretty spry.
With kind regards,
vovchik
UPDATED: Also added a rotated version (20 degrees) to the archive.

Not the cartoony approach I was looking for, but a quick demo of the penguin train of thought - tattoo ideas, sans spiky dog collar.
T-shirt -type logo ideas: "Make Linux fly again", "The REAL Emporer", "Above the pack", etc etc. Attached my crayon svg for anyone to modify if so inclined, have at it

Thank you vovchick, I appreciate your help with cleaning up the images Not the grimacing or earnest -looking penguin I was looking for, kinda like a Popeye treatment with a tattoo more obvious on the flipper (more t-shirt ideas "Flip Microsoft the bird!"; "Linux at Beak Performance"; "Puppy - not a parrot Linux distro" - sorry I'm getting worse and will stop now). Cheers!
