Not the cartoony approach I was looking for, but a quick demo of the penguin train of thought - tattoo ideas, sans spiky dog collar.
T-shirt -type logo ideas: "Make Linux fly again", "The REAL Emporer", "Above the pack", etc etc. Attached my crayon svg for anyone to modify if so inclined, have at it Smile

Thank you vovchick, I appreciate your help with cleaning up the images Smile Not the grimacing or earnest -looking penguin I was looking for, kinda like a Popeye treatment with a tattoo more obvious on the flipper (more t-shirt ideas "Flip Microsoft the bird!"; "Linux at Beak Performance"; "Puppy - not a parrot Linux distro" - sorry I'm getting worse and will stop now). Cheers!

Here's Lobster's find, turned into a 'bumper sticker' type of thing...

I think the logo should be that of a fat puppy as the days of a normal, lean puppy is long gone.

You may well have a point there, Nic. Even during the 5 years I've been with Puppy I've seen the 'bloat' creep in....

Here's another possibility:-

This was assembled, with some help from this website for the transparent backgrounds, in my favourite image editor, Mooi Tech's PhotoScape, running under WINE.

Although not really a 'dog' person, I've always liked Border collies. They're highly intelligent canines; handsome, inquisitive.....and downright cheeky with it! Perfect, I think, for the Puppy logo.

@ Lobster:-

If you like it.....feel free to make use of it, mate. Same goes for anything I produce.

Great work Mike, when the puppyized yin yang symbol appeared posted by lobster, I thought it would look great in the centre of a 9 as you have done with the collie image which has a sort of yin yang look. Either would be an excellent choice for Puppy 9.

@ Terry H:-

Nice of you to say so, mate. I did put a bit of thought into how that second one would look. Spent quite a while not only tracking down a suitable black & white 'clipart'-y type of image, but also finding a suitable online site that would do a quick, straight-forward transparent 'background' conversion on the PNG image. (Which is part of the reason why I prefer PNG images to JPGs/JPEGs; you can do stuff like that with 'em, which you can't with the latter.)

Graphic design is a long-standing hobby of mine, and since I like repaying all the help I've had on here over the last few years, I thought I'd try and see if I could do something for the community as a whole. And with all the 'digital' methods there are available these days, I can do stuff I could never have dreamed of, say, 20-25 years ago.

Plus, I enjoy it. 'Nuff said...

Okay; I'm on a roll, now, and got the bit between my teeth.....

Here's another candidate for the Puppy 9 logo:-

Probably not to anybody else's taste, but I like it..!

@ Burn_IT:-

'K9', huh? Laughing

Taking into account both Lobster's and Terry's thoughts, there's this one:-

A wee 'selection' for your perusal!

Mike
How about tucking a little tux in the bottom left - same black and white motif + yellow soles.
Something like the screenshot. You can get a better image, I'm sure. Smile
