Creative Extigy USB sound Box not functioning

#1 Post by kororke »

Using Puppy Linux Ver 2.13.
Under USB Viewer
UHCI Host Contoller
Sound Blaster Extigy (in red text)
As the USP mouse is in Black text, I take it that although the Extigy is recognized there is no driver installed for it.
Help in rectifying this would be very gratefully appreciated

Try the directions in this post:

There are better mixer options now. If that works, post back and we'll get you some additional help and advice.

Thank you John Doe for your help. Unfortunately it has been to no avail.
Puppy Linuxdoes not have "usbmngr"
the info at "fuschlberger" is for the C-Net sound system and not for the Creative sb Extigy.
modprobe snd-usb-audio returns to the prompt.

That's what it does when it works.

Did you check the mixer after that?

Yes. Still no good.
Problem is now fixed. I downlowded Puppy Linux version 2.14. and it happily sets up the Creative SB Extigy sound device, and it works well.

So for future similar queries, upgrading to the latest version is the answer.
Thanks John Doe for your replies.
