No worries. 'Twas only a couple of suggestions, after all. I've realised that we never quite know whether or not Tempestuous is still around the forums; he'll often drop out of sight for months at a time, then when you've convinced yourself he's given up on Puppy, up he pops again! Smile

Let us know the eventual outcome, anyway.

The replacement dongle has arrived - unfortunately it is not found and dmesg still states:
Code:

phy1 -> rt2800_init_eeprom: Error - Invalid RT chipset detected.
phy1 -> rt2x00lib_probe_dev: Error - Failed to allocate device.


I have tried with other versions of puppy with various degrees of success. Given the questions these raise I will start a new thread.
