Hi all,

How come that Htop report different CPU and Ram usage than the task manager (see the screen shot) and is it normal?

regards,

CPU usage dashes around each fractional second, tools that give a indicator of load tend to take a snapshot every second or so. As per your example two different readings are seen depending upon what fraction of a second the measure was made.

htop's Mem line is colour coded, green - used, blue - buffered, yellow - cached

cached is really free, as its available to be swapped-out/replaced, htop however counts cached and buffers in addition to free as the figure it shows whereas task manager is showing just the used figure.
