When I tried to boot from the Puppy-live-CD, it always stops at "Looking for Puppy on hdc" After a while it says "Kernel panic [...]". I already tried the boot options acpi=off and pfix=ram, but it didn't help. The computer is about 10 years old, with a Pentium 2 processor and an Intel Motherboard. Damn Small Linux N works without problems on this computer, but I think this is not the best distriubtion for my mother to work with.
The Puppy-Cd worked on my other computer quite well.

It involves copying the four core Puppy files from the CD to your hard drive and burning a GRUB boot CD to start Puppy.
