Duel monitor setup using ATI Radeon 9250

#1 Post by lava »

Hi All,

Puppy is just the best!

I am configuring Puppy 2.14 to show an extended desktop over two monitors.

Is it as simple as editing the Xorg file to show another monitor?

If so I need some knowledge.

I have two monitors- monitor 1 Sony SDM X72 and monitor 2 Samsung 940MW.

The SDM X72 is connected to the DVI port of a radeon 9250 and the Samsung to HD15.

I use the SDM X72 as my main screen and the 940MW to the left.

In the xorg config file I see that the 940MW has been recognized but the SDM X72 is not.

Is it as simple as changing the config file to show that the SDM X72 is monitor 0 and creating new parameters for it?

Also would I need to change the 940 MW to monitor 1 and insert left of screen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a newbie.

I just updated the dotpup to use our new server, as our old domain dotpups.de still is not reachable :(

With that you can install the fglrx drivers from ATI.
Maybe with their fglrxpanel you can set up a second monitor.

But I often have read, that the dual-monitor support of their Linuxdrivers does not support many cards.

So first, you might try what is described here:
