I’m now able to login from Palemoon as usual to the offending site, after switching the user agent mode to ‘native’.

Seems that PM has shipped for some time set to Firefox-compatiblity mode, and I’m particularly grateful to anikin for drawing attention to Moonchild’s grumbles in the release notes for PM 27.0.2 - this page of the main PM thread here -
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=93807&start=240

Unwilling to drop from from my jaws the smelly bone of the bogus ‘offline’ message, I went a-sniffing for other instances - hardly any - seems it started in this repository (for dumb skiddies?), it’s there at line 1317 -
https://github.com/mozilla/fireplace/blob/master/locale/fa/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po

- but no other dumb skiddies seem to have used it. The libel laws in some places might make it unwise to speak my mind on this one as forthrightly as I could wish, but many other victims have already done a pretty good job that way:

The wooden-spoon-of-all-time reviews? I was intrigued to note a first report of the bogus login-blocking message a few days before it hit me, one of several minor mysteries remaining like the intermittent appearance of the ReCaptcha abomination, for which life has become too short to pursue ... but you get the picture, => profound incompetence, utter shambles.

Security-wise I am personally disgusted and embittered that, in common with a claimed growing majority of UK patients, I am now unable to gain access to my ‘confidential’ medical records online without submission to the g00gle NID tracking cookie but hey, that seems to be the way we’re all being herded nowadays.

It's meaningless to blame ..., he is now in ICU .
