2.12 on a 1.83 Macbook, typed characters are doubled

#1 Post by tommyr »

Hi all. I downloaded 2.12 a few minutes ago and it runs on my 1.83 Macbook. However, When I type, everything comes out double. If I type a T I get 2 T's, etc. I selected US keyboard. Also the mouse movement on the trackpad is erratic but a USB mouse works fine. Puppy is great otherwise!

Can anyone help on the double character issue???

Thank you!

Tom

I am trying to run Puppy on a MacBook, and am having the exact same problem. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Are you using xorg or xvesa? I read that xorg is needed in order for the trackpad (a synaptics touchpad) to work correctly.

My synaptics touchpad works under xvesa also, but not as nicely.

Just to second everyone else's experience, I'm having the same problem. I thought that maybe posting in this thread might re-attract some brilliant support. Does anyone know how to fix this or whether puppy linux will have greater Mactel support in the future? Thanks.

Try to pass these parameters at boot time :

Code: Select all

puppy noapic acpi=force irqpoll
