What if I want to download all the pupget packages? |
|
If I wanted to download ALL of them (FTP download I mean) in order to have the full set locally, where would I store the .gz files?
Thanks

Not sure why you would want all of them, but have you got room to make a spare partition
on your hard drive? If so I recommend you create one and download all of them.
I have a 500mb parttion for when I do puppy upgrades, so instead of downloading all the
individual dotpups I have them there and I drag'n'drop and run'em
I store my files, music, anything I want to keep. Then I do a fresh install.
So to give you an idea, just make a spare partition. And in the near future
I will be making a data cd so I can have more hd space but right now
I still have space, and there is not a need for it just yet.

You store them any place you please, even on a cdrom disc
When you want to install pupget packages when you get to the windows that offers you a choice of two ftp servers, select the local option. Then browse to where you have your pupgets.
Puppy will install them from that location.

So I can have everything that is puppy on one CD. Then I can go to someone's house that has no Internet access and "Puppytise" them.
