AbiWord 2.4.5 Printing Problem

I have set the default printer under xpdq and localhost:631 and still
AbiWord 2.4.5 refuses to print to it - it will only print to the literally
local HP printer.

The default printer is on another PC and Seamonkey prints to it OK.

What might be causing this, please?

I have the same problem with CUPS where a local printer takes precedence over a network printer even if the latter is set as default.
In the Abiword print dialog, choose Custom Location and type: lpr -P printername
Printername is what you are calling the remote printer in the CUPS setup.
