Puppy no booting on Toshiba Sat 1400 laptop

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1400 with the following specs;

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(TM) CPU 1200MHz
Physical RAM: 735MB
Video Card: Trident Trident Video Accelerator CyberBlade XP Ai1 v5.9030-008V.22ICD
Video Memory: 16.0 MB
Chip Type: Trident CyberBlade XP Ai1
Audio Device: ALi Audio Wave

When booting puppy 2.14, my problem is with the X.
It will not boot to X and just hang when probing the video hardware.

Any ideas as to why?

At the short pause when Puppy is booting, type: puppy acpi=off
Some laptop owners have reported that this solved their problem.

Tried your advice.....with no success. Still continues to hang both in Xorg and Xvesa modes.


Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
