NEWS FLASH!!!!!

#1 Post by Stokey »

Eat your heart out Bill Gates the Puppy Master has beaten you to the post

Puppy 1.0.5alpha2 now released

Now come all you Puppys who have never compiled any source code download 1.0.5alpha2 and have a go

Even my Aunt Maude is going to have a bash at it

It's exciting - the preprocessing, the compiling, the assembling and finally the linking...... sucess (maybe)

And if you get compile errors, more excitement trying to figure out their weird and wonderful meaning

I beleive that some people actually do enjoy doing the above,
while most of us play/watch some sport, go to the theatre, play with the kids or grandkids do a bit of gardening, get the Harley out and go for a bit of a spin etc, even enjoy the company of the the opposite sex (?)

Well I'm off to check on my Aunt Maude who is Googling to find some easy Linux source code to download and compile, she keeps saying "tarballs" to me......... Is that rude or not!

So happy compiling :D

If anyone has a copy of the new user_devx.sfs
please share it as the server is acting up.
Unless Barry restricted it to developer's only.

I tried downloading twice from Firefox and was succesful on the third attempt using Opera. You can see a pic of the Alpha Pup on the wiki news:

http://www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/LatestNews

you can read about it at puppylinux.com under News
This IS NOT a release version of Puppy - it is for developers to compile programs (I know this has been said but . . .)

Lobster
Point taken, however if you read the News page again it does say the release is for Puppy enthusiasts and developers

There are aprox three files in pupget for KDE (the main file - an essential library and a database segment) None of these appear to be downloading at the moment :?
