Full access to all PDQ printers.

If you must use PDQ (which I can use on this PC together with CUPS), why not include foomatic and allow all printers to be used.

I use a Brother HL-2040 printer which works fine in CUPs and PDQ.
I downloaded a ppd file and then generated a driver using foomatic.
This works fine in Fedora 4.

However, I tried copying these to /etc/pdq in Puppy Linux and the printer is reported as unusable.

Is this because Puppy can only work with Gimp-print drivers?

If so, I request that full PDQ options be available.
