Problem with 1.0.5a2 (Solved by deleting pup002)

Has anyone had success with alpha2 on a laptop?

I tried it on my acer laptop but shortly after going into the GUI it pops back to text mode. If I try xwin it repeats ie I see the grey screen with the cursor for a second or two then back to text again.

It's not the CD...it works fine on a desktop...and the new desktop screen looks really neat. Shocked

I presume you're running it as a live CD. Has any other version of Puppy worked on this laptop?

yep puppy previous versions worked including alpha1. But today I read the instruction that stated that the pup002 file should be removed...so I did..and guess what?
Alpha2 now works. I'm using it now. yahooo!

remember as a last resort always read the instructions.
Let this be a warning to other laptop users.
