Last week my sister came over to order a birthday present (a rather nice personal Dab radio) through the Internet
She is forced to use something called "Weendoze" at work - which I think is a kind of viral magnet.
Anyway she was afraid to order on the Internet using "Weendoze" because it is about as secure as my grasp of reality . . .
In comes the Pup!
It boots
It connects
It orders
It's done
Is she converted? Naaa h h h . . . take more than something that works to convince some people . . .
Does the pup mind? Nah - still standing by - ready to be frisky.
What successes have others achieved with their Pups?

I was playing with Vector and screwed something up, so I whistled, and Puppy mounted the filesystem and let me fix the problem. He also lets me complete long downloads (Whiney Windows conks out halfway through) and surf for more than two hours without rebooting. He's such a good boy.....

Status Bar Disappears
At one time, twenty or more open Mozilla windows caused the status bar to disappear, but I can still access the Mozilla windows via right-click on the screen. In M$ Windows, I would have to restart the machine and lose the links that I opened (if it did not say "Error - please End Task..." long before I have opened even 12 browser windows )

So the world's best key-combo, ALT + TAB wouldn't work? Whenever stuff dissapears when I'm on Windows, I keep going till it crashes and burns. As long as I have ALT and TAB, I just keep on rolling. I have actually salvaged the entire system through Winamp before. Everything else had crashed, but Winamp was still going, so I somehow used the open file dialog to start Litestep (a replacement for Windows Explorer as a desktop/shell/WM) and get everything running again.
