Network configuration for internet acces |
|
I am new around here and I wanted to know how to configure Puppy in order to acces the internet.
In windows i have the following configuration:
IP Adress: 172.xx.x.xx
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 172.xx.x.x
Preferred DNS Server: 172.xx.x.x
Where do I make this configurations in Puppy?
Thanks!

As bladehunter suggested, run the network setup wizard.
If you have a static connection, then enter the values that you need via "manually configure" your information, once you test the connection, which most likely will be eth0 (if there is one NIC card in the system).
If your IP provider uses dynamic configuration, just tell the wizard to try making the connection automatically, after the test, if it finds your NIC card. The wizard will let you know.
If you run into problems, post back some more information about your system (NIC card make and model) or what system you are trying this on. Also, if your isp uses static or dynamic (DHCP) in Windows.
