HP psc 1210 printer and Puppy LINux 2.15CE

#1 Post by ndujoe1 »

A friend of mine had their hard drive crash, XP. So I showed them puppy linux in lieu there of :) Everything is working except the HP psc 1210 Printer.

I saw the printer in the list and selected USB as the local port.

I printed a test page from Abiword. And Xpdq reported that it finished printing the page, but there was not output.

Any suggestions. Would the CUPS printing interface cure this printing ailment?

Yes. I have used it for several of the HP PSC series printers and printing works without a problem using the hpijs driver from foomatic. OTOH, scanning is problematic and requires HPLIP.

Hope that helps.
