I can no longer open text files! |

Have no idea what happened? Every time I try to open a text file nothing happens. I click and click but nothing.

Tried it but nothing happenes. Anyways changed the run action so now it opens with Beaver. They used to open with leafpad by default but maybe I changed the run action accidentally. I'm was still trying to get the hang of a single click opening a file. Got fed up and now changed it to double click.

This just happened to me too. All of the sudden, as of yesterday, leafpad won't open. I click on the icon on the desktop and nothing. What version of Puppy are you using? I'm using the 1.0.5 alpha 2.

I don't have a clue as to what happened. All the system "run as" and mime types where right, leafpad just died for some unknown reason.
I rebuilt it and all is well again:

If you are running puppy 1.0.5 and include the usr_devx.sfs file in the root of your install, you can run make from the command line.

There is no Puppy 1.0.5 - yet (and Barry may take up gardening before releasing it . . .)
Puppy 1.0.5 Alpha r2 is a quick release for compiling C code and showing the new desktop - for day to day usage 1.0.4 is stable and usable.
I evaluated 1.0.5 Alpha r2 and found it usable (a day and a half of intense computing) but I am back in 1.0.4

I'm too lazy to download 1.0.4, so I'm going to be using 1.0.5a2 until something better comes out I haven't noticed any problems that can stop me yet. Maybe its because we (1.0.5a2 and I) are both only half-baked, so we mesh to form a whole pizza. Or maybe Barry is just so good that his alphas come out as betas.
I haven't run into this problem yet, but we'll see...
