How to switch 2.13 from Xorg to Xvesa?

#1 Post by BigPilot »

I have a HD install of Puppy 2.13 on an old Pentium 200/64MB RAM machine and it uses XOrg at the moment. But I read somewhere that XVesa uses a lot less RAM and since the machine is RAM starved I was wondering: how can I change it to boot from XVesa instead of XOrg. So I can compare whether it makes a difference,

Anyone know? TIA.

I'm not in pup right now :( but should be able to go to the setup icon wiz when booted up, ~ select Xvesa (forget the exact steps) option & reboot. Tells what steps to take along the way.
