SeaMonkey 1.14 install has trashed system

#1 Post by ScottD »

Well I've really screwed up this time.

In an effort to get Eclipse and SeaMonkey to play nice together I decided to try ot install the latest SeaMonkey version 1.1.4.

The install seg faulted. After it did that, now my original SeaMonkey Segfaults!

Anyway to recover this?

Scott

you might get some clues if you type the executable command in a console window. so maybe try typing defaultbrowser, or mozstart, or /usr/lib/mozilla/mozilla-bin. you should get some error message.

From Installation Instructions:
Note: It is recommended that you uninstall previous versions of SeaMonkey before installing SeaMonkey 1.1.4. This will not delete your bookmarks, history, cookies and other information which is stored in your profile directory.
Did you follow the Seamonkey 1.1.4 installation instructions?

I installed Seamonkey 1.14 without problems - so it must be something specific to your installation.

(My system cannot be really classified - it's based on Puppy 2.15CE with the new "cutting edge kernel" and Xorg updated to 7.2.)
