Can Puppy connect thru a USB broadband modem?
I have a friend that has an internet broadband connection through an USB modem and want to try puppy.
does anyone of you know if puppy could connect to internet this way?

I don't know if Puppy can use the USB connection, but again I don't see why not. Have your friend try. The worst thing will happen is it won't configure. If it does not I will walk him/her thru the step to connect to the HSI with a ethernet connetion, and I know Puppy will connect that way.
There is limited support for usb ADSL modems but not with Puppy and they need a bit of research and working out to get get right. I did setup a firewall\router using usb ethernet\wireless adapters and a USB adsl modmem but that was with Slackware and took some time to get the modem going.

The easiest solution is to connect via a NIC card connected to the ethernet port on the usb modem.
If this is a DSL modem, the same method applies. You then can configure Start-->Network-->RoaringPenguin to set up the DSL account settings. _________________ I love it when a plan comes together
